cb360 carb tuning, velocity stacks, stock exhaust

Hello there,

im not here to waste your time, I have done the research, I just would like a verification. continue to read if you have time ;D

I am rebuilding a cb360 and plan to install velocity stacks on the bike. Stock exhaust, stock everything else in the exhaust path. According to the research that I have done it appears as though i need to increase my main jet size by 3. My main question is that in a carb theory article I read it talked about increasing the pilot jet 1 size for every 3 main jet increases. What is your guys's take on this?

you wont need to change anything as long as they're the stock cv crabs.. been there. A small jump on the idle jet if anything... But you can make up the difference through the idle mixture screw.

I'm with Louie on this one. I have extensive engine mods on my 360 and I'm currently running the stock carbs with an increase of 5 on the secondary mains. It's not perfect, but it's close.

And in all honestly, unless you make some RADICAL changes to the motor and the way it breaths, you'll lose performance with V stacks... It simply doesnt have the capability to use them or that much air. So.... they'll be on there for looks.... Plan on changing your oil every 500 miles, with no air filter your oil will dirty quickly.

Just to clarify what I heard.

1. Dont worry about jetting changes
a. except for the possibility of the pilot jet which can be adjusted through the mixture screw

yea they are definetly more for looks than anything on this bike. The dirt is a concern to me as well. have you guys heard of anyone making a screen that uses the same oiled material that pods do? If they have the ability to provide more air than needed I wouldnt mind sacrificing a little air flow for a cleaner engine. I have rebuilt the stock air boxes on my other 360 and that was fine and dandy, worked great, but this bike is not stock so velocity stacks it is.

thanks for the help fellows
