CB360 - Clean and simple

Rotors 'dishing' are pretty common on some bikes,
I think Honda and Yamaha have had issues with the problem (Yamaha had a recall because brake could lock up at high speed - 140mph or so.)
I remember changing literally hundreds of rotors and calipers on FZR's
On other makes, generally the issue is the pad rubs on one side and causes overheating (brakes not serviced regular or properly plus poor airflow to 'inside' of rotor so it bows 'out')

If it was a uniform "dish" then that wouldn't be so bad, but the issue is that it "wobbles" as the wheel spins.

That's 'normal' as well. Heat soak under caliper/pads prevents rotor cooling evenly.

So it's been a little while since I've posted - between traveling and some personal things I haven't had much time to work on the bike. I did get around to cleaning up some of the parts though.

Picked up one of these sandblasters off Amazon (http://amzn.to/2d4fdNe)..

And started throwing my parts in..

A C-clamp and piece of PVC pipe made the valves super easy to remove

Hopefully more to come soon!

Painted... went back and forth on what paint to use (and what color) for a bit and finally just decided some Aluminum color 500* Duplicolor.

Damn you've been busy. Things are looking good. I would re-design adapter slightly to have locating lips or flanges even though the shoulder bolts take all the stress.

Most of the time it's the heart of the rotor that is bend, not the actual brake disc. So you can search for a worn rotor with a straight heart and put the two good pieces together. Saves a lot of money.
Nope, normally it's the rotor bent either from an accident or some knucklehead mechanic clamped it in wheel vice when on bench or heat soak as previously mentioned.

Good link on the bearings

Couple more pieces cleaned up. I decided to go with a darker color on the accessory covers to provide some contrast. Also thinking the darker color for the frame too.

Also, I noticed this and it seems off... Maybe the ratcheting mechanism on the started gear is breaking through? I'm not planning on running a starter so that gear and related parts have to go anyway.

Any ideas?

I removed the starter crap from my 360.. use the rear axle as a puller tool to remove the stator.. the rest comes off easy.... reinstall stator...

CrazyPJ might be able to hook you up with a starter plug.

Yep, that's definitely a broken up starter clutch. That sort of damage can only happen when starter is spinning and motor backfires.
You'll probably ind the ramp piece is cracked into pieces.

That's what I figured.. oh well, I'm removing it anyway. Thanks!

New brake rotor came in today and this one is not bent!
