I finally got around to putting on flat bars, they have a slight pull back.
They were 27 1/2 inches across, which made them just as wide as the stock bars, but since they were right behind the speedo, I had a slight issue with the Brake line.
Instead of the brake line running almost straight down, I had to twist the eyebolt so it pointed straight up, then made a direct curve behind the gauges and down.
It was a tight fit.
I did drill the bars, and it took a while to measure it right, and cut. there is a bit more room on the clutch side though, but I think it's pretty good.
I will likely get a new bolt with new steel look brake line.
Has anyone gone straight to the caliper versus that piece on the forks?
Then for the blue dot headlight, it's from Amazon, and the headlight bucket is from Herm and the boys at DCC. It's a high quality piece...way better than the plastic light.
Now for the bracket, get this. I had a KZ 650 headlight bracket, and it was a perfect fit, not a single tweak. it fit into the speedo bolts, and into the single bolt by the for brace.
I did have to hack up the stock bracket to get the parts where the headlights mounted, and the little plastic honda plate mounted ( the one at the lower fork brace....it worked perfectly. It's quite immobile, and I think it's a good height too.
I used Bike master grips to match the paint, and it's close, and bike master bar-end mirrors. So they're not top notch pieces, but they are billet aluminum, and I think they look good. I'm trying to keep the cost low for now, and haven't done the frame, or anything else.
The pipes were rusty, as were the wheels, but fine steel wool, and WD40 took care of 99% of it, and it will get me through this season for sure. I hope to make the rims blue too, and the hubs and spokes nice and shiny.
I'm open to suggestions, since this is my first light twin Honda. I completed a CB550 last year, and the CB 360 is really light, and I thought the 550 was light, and handled well, but not in comparison.
The top two pics are the after shote, the bottom is the before.
