CB360 Headlight Wiring Issues

1974 CB360 headlight worked fine for a while and then just stopped working one day. I had some issues with the high and low beam switch at one time so I thought it was the issue. From looking at the diagram I see three wires coming from the highbeam/lowbeam switch, (white, black with stripe, and blue) White is power to headlight for driving, blue is power for high beam, and black with stripe is power from fuse block. When I test the wires with a voltmeter with the headlight disconnected Im showing good power to white, however when I hook up the light and hit the switch nothing happens and Im not able to get a reading on white with the volt meter. If I hook up dark green (ground) to the headlight and run a jumper from the battery to white the headlight works. Also something I noticed was there are three fuses, main, head, and tail. head and tail read -12v and main +12v this seems a little odd but figure it may be correct so I wanted to ask. Also the taillight and turn signals work fine, only the headlight is affected. Thanks for any help!

Probably corrosion in a connection, quite possible in the switch itself. You get voltage when there is no load, but when you put a load on it, the connection fizzles out.

Start at the switch, and clean it out with a spray cleaner from Radio Shack, then pack it with dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. (I do this with ALL handlebar control switches, even if they are working just fine.)

Do the same thing with all the connections in your entire wiring harness. Clean/grease/reassemble.
