CB360 High Idle / Mess

Have you re-fitted breather tube to connection on head? Unless you've had older bikes or K&N filters regularly, the breather always goes int air-box for gas recirculation s you wouldn't notice water vapor

Ah yes. This is the only vintage bike i've owned that doesnt have the stock airbox installed. So makes perfect sense as to why I've never noticed it before. At least now I don't have to worry about it ;D

Now be careful not to hurt yourself, ;D
Not taking a small bike serious gets people in trouble real quick ;)

About the poor compression you mentioned - how long have your bike been sitting and how many miles have you put on it the last few years?
Saying this because the xs750 i bought a few years ago was smoking a bit of oil and comp was low, around 100-120 psi. What i did was get it to run reliably, then i gave it The asswhooping of its lifetime, ran it hard as shit for a little over a 1000 miles, with pulls up to redline then coasting, letting out these great smoke clouds. And one day it stopped smoking completely and guess what? Comp was up to 140-150 across! Sometimes you just got to slap them right in the face..

Yep, rings don't seat properly sometimes, it can easily take 10~12,00 miles to bed them in when bores and rings are oiled on assembly
The 'slather oil everywhere' was OK back in 1950's when just about everything used cast iron rings in cast iron cylinders but chrome faced and moly loaded rings need different treatment

I was honestly thinking the same thing. Since reassembling the motor, I barely had a chance to ride it before winter hit. And based on the fact that it actually runs pretty well, I had a feeling the low compression may have been due to a lack of break-in riding.

For now that's the plan. Give her a whoopin and get everything nice and broken in 8)
