Cb360 Lower Triple Identification

What is this central piece on the lower triple tree? Was it at some point a fork lock? Can I cut it off?

Yup old fork lock housing, if you are not gonna use it you can cut it off.

Thanks. On the same note, can these two small tabs go? The ones sticking up just rearward of the swingarm pivot. They used to hold the chain guard, right?

Yup they can go if aren't using the chain guard.
