Honda CB360 Speedo disassembly


I can’t find anything with the search –

How do I get the knob got the tripometer reset off?

I found a few “how to”s for changing out the face plate on CB750 and other bikes, but not for the 360. I would have thought that the gauges were the same but the ones that I found either have you holding a internal nut with a pair of needle nose pliers or a screw on the knob itself.

My gauges have a c-clip, not a nut and there is no screw on the exterior of the know.

Need help. I want to disassemble the gauge to paint the housing and eventually put a new face plate on (anyone have a source for a custom one or a how to line for a DIY?)

I saw both of those. My gauge looks just like those two (except for the numbers) but I do not have the nut shown at the top of page 5 of the salocal.com site, nor do I have a screw on the knob shown here - https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/O8orwP_tQ3zhuh2l1zTe7g

Where there is the nut - I have a E or C clip. The end of the knob is solid - no screw.

In fact - I knocked the E clip out trying to hold the shaft and can't get it in with my fat fingers now, so Ihave to move forward.

I will try to post some pics.
