CB360 update!

what, me worry?
hey guys, had nothing to do this weekend, so i raced down to my dads garage in Genoa City, about 90 miles from milwaukee. the tailight is left over from a 31 ford model a that dad and myself built up a while ago. the seat came from my buddy dwane out of platteville, wisconsin. 35 bucks for it! all i did was take some angle iron steel and fab out 4 tabs, and weld them onto the frame, dress them up, ran over to home depot and bought some flange bolts and grommet washers, and four rubber wahers for the top. got back then welded the nut to the bottom of the L-bracket, then VIOLA! new seat, by the way... those stock seat hinges are a pain to grind off... the turn signals are dual LED piranhas that i picked up from ace hardware for 3.50 a piece. wired em up and were ready to ride! all thats left is to install the shorty 11" shocks, new avon roadriders, buy some 33mm clip ons, white grips, slide up the forks, flat black paint, and today im working on my upholstery, which is white metalflake vynal :D ran into something i never noticed... seems a previous owner named the bike back in 2000, "Old Crow" seems fitting that i happen to be painting it black....

by the way, i know that the front of the seat looks like its bulging up, but i have to re-make a new tank rubber mount, because that one is too big and is allowing the seat to not sit on the tabs-

really like the look. clean what are you going to do maybe a fade in the color. go from gray to black.

Is there someone out there that makes small round turn signals. i would think it would be really cool to run internal lines through where you cut your frame and instead of having two cut end have turn signals. lets face it no one really looks at signals anyway. so they are there to appese John Q law.
could work

well, i might try my hand at taking 5 amber LEDs and putting them into a 1175 series socket, then make a harness off the end of the frame pipe under the seat. these look good and will do for now.

nice, u put the drag bars on? thinking i might do so since clip ons are gonna be too low for me if i dont put on rearsets.

Don't forget you need a curent limiting resister if you are going to run LEDs off 12v. Btw where in Milwaukee do you ride that thing I've never seen it and I'm always on the lookout for cool cafes; you don't see to many here in harley town.

doing some painting in the next few days... ill be snapping pics of steps/ progess. also will be hackin some more usless shit off of it... so stay tuned, trying to get her looking good for Rockerbox!

Lookin' good -- will you be at Rockerbox Saturday? BTW, why are you looking for CL exhaust? I kind of like what you have on there. I was stuck with CL pipes and no prospect of finding the right mufflers so I went with the Emgo reverse megaphones. I think they look alright, and they have a pretty cool throaty sound.

I'd still love to find an original CL heat shield for the pipes, though, so if you ever hit the CL pipe motherlode, let me know...

I got CL Pipes for my CJ, I think I still have the headshields somewhere.....

Cut the retarded ass mufflers off, and extended the pipes.

I dunno, I love the look of scrambler pipes. With no mufflers.

funny thing is phil, that is EXACTLY what i wanted for mine, but i think im going to stick with the dual side to side, and maybe go with megphones turned up. we'll see. so anyways.... riding home from work last night, and my model a taillight decides to snap off and drag on the ground and spark everywhere. luckily i grabbed it before the last wire snapped. bad news is the original licence plate lookt hrough glass on the bottom shattered (cant exactly buy those they are 80 something years old) my one day old paintjob got a little thrashed, but other than that i dont think "Mississippi Queen" will be making her debut at the show on saturday, i just dont have any time today or tomorrow morning to drive down to lake geneva and use my pop's welder.

YAY LOOKING GOOD!

oh and by the way, ill still go to rockerbox. asked around for some ideas on how to quick fix it, and i think maybe that JB weld putty might do the trick so i can sand it and paint it.... i dont know though, im not a fan of that idea.

Hmm. I didn't even know of this gathering till you posted about it. I think I'm going to atleast do the ride in the morning. oh and you can use my wire welder if you'd like it's a lot closer then you dads.

where does it start? 128th and capital?

What would be the cats daddy would be some bullet turn lights in the frame ends. That solves the problem of the open frame rails on the tail of the bike. Love the early twins.

its been a while since ive put anything up about my bike. shes sat for a while and now that it was 38 degrees today, i decided to stroll out to the garage, happy that a wrench wont stick to my hand. milled out the control holes in the Tarozzi clip ons, and ive got some new purdy white turismo grips. gonna tear down the dragbar tomorrow. got the carbs off and gonna start having some fun on the kitchen table.

well i need to find some carb kits, and a new carb diaphragm due to one of them having a few rips in it... any places to get them cheap would be more than appricated......

i was thinking the same thing. some other dude on the net used gorilla glue and said it worked fine. ill take a pic in a bit of the rips. they are near the piston so i dont think it would be too huge of a deal, and they are quite small.

Scored some Vortex billet rearsets off of evilbay for 55 bucks shipped... cant argue with the price....

still wondering what to do about the carb diaphragm... i think im going to repair it.....

This bike looks rad - I love that (in its present state) it's kind of raggedy. Looks badass.

How far down the path do you plan to go with this bike - paint the tank, etc? I'm looking at a CB350 and your build looks pretty close to what I'd like to do.

Also, you got that seat from Glass for the Past, right? Which one is it on their site?
