cb450 Battery

I am wondering if it is possible to get away with running a smaller battery than the stock size which i believe is 12N12A-4A-1?

Depends on the electrical usage of the bike. What size headlight, led signals / brake light, kickstart only etc.

right now it has a stock headlight, small led turn signals, led taillight, kick start only

From what I understand, the 450s do need a battery in order to run (the power for the coils/lights/etc. comes from the battery and the alternator just charges that battery) but if you aren't running a starter, you should be able to get away with a small battery. If your alternator is working properly, it should just be able to keep the battery topped off with the lights on, no matter how big the battery is.

So I think the starter drives the size of the battery. I will be getting a smaller battery, one that just fits under the seat I am going to make, and I am going to keep the starter. I will just try not to use it very much. I usually kick start it anyway cause the chicks like it.

The biggest one that will fit in the space you want to put it.

I'm in the process of getting a new battery for my 72 CB450 and it will be the biggest I can fit.



What a about brands ? What do you guys trust / like / recomend ?
