CB450 Done!!!

Glad you all are liking this ride, thnx for the words!!! I’m still working out some electrical mysteries but otherwise am enjoying the hell out of the bike!

Flug- I guess the tank does look somewhat longer, but it is the stock tank after being beat up a bit with a hammer and having all the hard lines rounded. And yes, the battery (which is a small 2.5” by 6” sealed battery) and a few other electrical bits are stashed behind the spades. You can’t really see it in these shots, but the spades are cut out and backed with brass mesh, as well is the rear drum, shifter plate and velocity stacks….i guess I probably should’ve of painted the stripes gold to match the brass, or used silver mesh to match the stripes, but it works either way… :-\

Brew- I do have a build thread but I got lazy and never really found the time to keep up with it as I should have, but do have a lot of build shots if anyone wants to see anything specific. http://dotheton.com/index.php?topic=3568

Beautiful bike! Seeing rides like this is what keeps me motivated on my current project, a 1975 CB500T. Does your mini tach appear to be accurate? I'm just about to pull the trigger on a bunch of front end parts and I'm becoming confused as to which ratio gauge I need. Where did you get yours?

I got both the speedo and tach from MikesXs. I can't recall what the ratio was but it did match the stock cb450 gauges and they both do seem to work as intended on this bike. Shoot them an email, they're really great folks when it comes to customer service. www.mikesxs.com

Wow that looks killer, would it be difficult to get it to lay that nice on a tank or fender?

just be a normal powdercoating... it would just be blast and shoot, i do tanks and fenders all the time... powder holds up much better than paint... i could even bury it in an ultra clear for more shine

here they are on the bike to give you an idea... black cherry comes in two types, one with a purple pigment and one with a red... this is the red... if i am not mistake it is the same as your 450

WOW! That bike looks great bro! The black cherry fits it very well! Color is very similar, mine's a little more on the black side tho, we laid off the red a bit when mixing it.

I don't want to upset anyone by saying this .. because there's a lot of really nice 350's and 400's on the forum, but that is the best looking CB450 I've ever seen! A credit to you ..

Absolutely beautiful. Very Nice work. So what's the grand total? Do you have a before and after pic? maybe a link to the build thread? A great inspiration! - MBS
