CB450 rear shock mount length?

I'm building custom upper shock mounts for the rear of my CB400T and am about to turn down some 1" round stock to 5/8" to fit inside the eye of the shock. I'll be drilling and tapping the end of it for an M6 bolt and washer to cover the bushing.

My question is, how long is the stock shock mount (the 5/8" part) on the 82 CB450 from which the shocks came (and probably most other bikes from this era as I'd assume they're the same). I'm coming from a clevis-clevis setup so I have nothing for reference except I saw some on DCC that said 3/4" long but that was at a 1/2" mounting diameter. The actual metal eye measured to right around 3/4" but the bushing sticks out on either side 1/16"-1/8". I'm assuming that 3/4" would be fine with the compression of the bushing on either side but I want to make sure I do it right the first time.

Any input would be awesome.

Thanks
