CB450K6 Negative Ground Too Big?

Made some serious headway on the bike today. I successfully relocated the battery to fit under the rear of my cafe seat. Also moved the various electricals that were previously mounted to the old battery box. Seems like everything is wired back up OK but I'm having a starter problem now.

I've got juice. When I attempt to turn the bike over with the starter, only the solenoid clicks. Plenty of power on the battery itself. Here's a couple things I did and I'm centering my culprit around the negative cable but looking for some certification from the members here.

1. Replaced the negative cable (battery to engine block) with a longer one (and seemingly larger gauge than stock). Original looks to be about 12" or so. New one is 32".

2. Spliced some new 16 gauge wire onto the positive terminal and accompanying (not sure where it goes, but there were to positive (red) wires together so I lengthened them equally.

I'm guessing the longer and larger diameter negative cable could be my problem? I'm looking everywhere else to see what I may have missed.

Any suggestions? BWT...it kick starts just fine and I've got the initial indicator on the pod when the power is on. Seems all is good to go but not enough power hitting the starter, perhaps.

Thanks all!

That shouldn't be a problem.
Put a screwdriver touching both terminals on the solenoid and see if it turns over. Sounds like either a bad connection or a bad solenoid.
