CB500 Cafe Racer..... It is finally done

Hey Guys:

You may of noticed in the garage another CB seating around. . It was dropped off a while back for me to build a cafe style bike (more retro modern) for a friends wife.
He mentioned his wife was colorful and shared some stories that included the numbers on "42" & "150" along with a word "GEM" . . . so well leave it at that.

However I had to finish the "CB550 Cafe Racer" first (paying customer). . But this next build was for her !!

Well he saw the finished CB550 and wanted it to look just like it. However using all the stock parts. . So having the paint left over, we talked about a solo seat and cool handle bars and just wanted it to run. . .

Humble beginnings:

we tore it down for powder coating

Frame and motor mounts went off to become "Black Chrome"

The swingarm, shock springs, cent stand, front triple trees and lower fork tubes went with a Satin black

The rims and spokes along with the gauge housings were done in Gloss Black

Polished the front and rear hubs with new Buchannas SS nipples

Added the white gauge faces (they add alot)

Stripped the engine paint

prepped and deburred the engine. . Primed and painted (Had to make it colorful !!)

Picked the powder coating and mockup a roller (Hoping know would open the garage door ??)

Starting to put her back together Bit by Bit

Working on the paint scheme and how to shorten the fenders ?

3" of the back and 5" off the front fender ?

weld them up. . a little sanding. . throw on some black paint add some cool pin stripping . . . Looks cool

Add her "Special" numbers and a little out lining

Did I mention. . . I hate electrical !! . . Did snake skin everything though

Somewhat put together. . . still needs some a few things before she brought back to life.
But you see the overall design. .

All stock; except the seat pan, rear tail light and some cool "Hyde" M bars and retro turn signals
and added some old triumph trumpet exhaust ends with internal mufflers

One HELL YEA !!

She was not expecting this for a 10 year anniversary present. . . .
