CB500 Cafe Racer..... It is finally done

That seat is home made !! added 1/8 th foam around the seat and tail area to allow for material, wrapped it all in plastic and started adding fiberglass cloth & resin. . about 3/16" thick, added the foam, carved it to shape and upholstered.

Very tastefully done, GM. Looks like she's pretty pleased with it. Nice work.

Sorry to thread-jack, but I'm not sure I'm understanding. I know there are tons of posts of how to DIY seats, but none that incorporate the stock(ish) rear fender and are fully upholstered. You used the stock seat pan? Did you use spray foam or otherwise? I'm thinking hard about what direction I'm going to go here, and your end result is just what I'm looking for!

Shoot him a PM...

Great job man. She looks blown away.

Thank guys, she was more than thrilled.

It is amazing how a bike transforms with just a few modifications, it keeps it classy and it looks great.

Here is how I did the seat:

First step was
plastic rap
the frame and tape it to protect it
then I applied the Epoxy Resin (Axon 2108, fully cures at 75F) to
plain weave fiberglass
Then added it to the plastic rap

Then after it cured I added more fiberglass with polyester resin
