cb500 question

I'm wondering, too - I have a '71 in need of rearsets and I have the same question re: clearances... Thanks!

UPDATE: According to Jim Henshaw over at FastFromThePast, the kickstart *WILL INDEED* foul the Terrazo rearsets, along with almost any other set (due to the placement at the passenger peg mounting point).

Jim's recommended fix is to remove the kick start lever, heat it, then bend it slightly until it clears the toe peg, then re-install. I'm not sure if the modification to the strut will have negative performance impact (i.e. - if it'll break on you some rainy, dark evening when you're 150 miles from home), but I suppose it's easy enough to keep a spare (also modified, of course) somewhere on the bike. Or just use the electric start. :) Not as cool, though, I agree... heh.

Jim's one of the good guys that knows what he's talking about and didn't jump on the trend bandwagon. He also races old bikes, so he knows what works.
