Thought I'd start a build thread for my new project. I found the bike last Aug on craigslist and have been slowly starting to work on it. Hopefully by this spring it will be up and running.

When I got it home. The PO had started to do a little work on it:

Started doing a little work last fall by cutting the rear section of the frame, and bought a seat from Motofiaccone:

Clipons came next:

and that's more or less the way it sits now. Updates coming soon when I can find some time to work on it. Plans are to get it looking how I want it and get it running this season then maybe take everything apart next winter for refinishing/paint etc.

Nice start. Are you keeping the original tank? Would like to see a pic with the tank on and see how it lines up with the new seat pan

Yeah, the stock tank is staying. It's getting painted right now so I don't have a pic of it on the bike with the new seat yet, soon though.

I can remember being wowed by this model at a bike show, when they were first released back in the mid 70s.
They had bright orange body work with a dark brown seat.......say no more!
