CB500t flywheel/generator removal

I'm trying to remove the flywheel to repair the springs/rollers of the starter clutch no a 75' honda cb500t.

So far, i've taken off the left side cover, removed the stator, removed the 14mm flywheel bolt to expose the underlying threads.

I've purchased the flywheel puller bolt 16mm RH thread, but don't quite know how this works. Do I screw the flywheel puller into the threads until I hit resistance....than what? First timer for removing the flywheel so I appreciate the advice.

Thanks,

install the puller as snug as you can it with a socket

then rap the puller on the top

tighten the puller and repeat till the rotor pops off it wont take much
