cb500t oil filter

im wondering how hard is it to change the oil filter on my cb500t what is envoled in it? That may sound dumb but my clutch cover is leaking so im gonna pull the cover off might as well change the filter.

there is no filter the 500t is a centrifuge. just drain the oil and replace it. unless your bike isn't stock.

remove #1 in the diagram
remove the snap ring that holds #2 in place
clean out the cylinder behind #2
re-install parts.

Word of caution on the snap ring...mine broke very easy on my '73 CB450. Wound up ordering one and the bike was down until then. Just an FYI.

Also, you might want to take a look at the rubber gasket rings in there. There are two (one big, one little). My little one had gone slack after many years so I replaced it this last time. If you are leaking, you might need to change those rubber rings.

When I went to change the oil on my CB450 for the first time I was freakin confused!!! lol. Same thing on it too.
