So in my cb550 transformation into a cafe racer i upgraded my rearsets to a '01ish GSXR 750. Here's what they look like.

snowman88 : Where is your exhaust located in those pics?
drackett_19 : Where did you get those frame brackets?

i got the frame brackets from JP cycle, but you may be able to find them locally depending on where you live. I don't have much for bike shops around here.

I can't remember off-hand what the OD of the Honda frame is, but that is the size you will need.

I've heard a setup like that might not be sturdy enough or even a bit dangerous. How is it working out for you? Can you stand on them wiht all your weight?

How is the ground clearance on the end of the levers?

yeah I was told that by some folks as well. Maybe some people have had issues with them, but I can only speak for myself. Mine are rock solid. I can stand up and bounce my weight on them, they don't budge. I just finished a full season of riding with them and they worked fine. Of course the hardware used to install them needs to be strong and tight to ensure safety.

the ohio cafe racer guys have used them on numerous bikes, thats where I heard of the idea. You could always contact them for some info on how the brackets hold up. http://www.ohiocaferacers.com/

cheers.

hey Snowman...
hows this brake pedal working for ya?
Looks like a very interesting ideal..Does the downward motion of the brake pedal pull the brake actuator arm enough to activate the brake?
Unless Im wrong, I believe that you are using a rear-set from a gsxr & that piece on the pedal that you mounted the rod onto is orginally used for the return spring.
I dont believe that it moves/pivot.. So im wondering if it will give you the motion & direction you need to properly pull that actuator arm...

Correct, it is off a GSXR and its off the return spring. I don't know who it works when riding since i haven't gotten the bike back together yet, but with the rear tire off the ground and spinning the tire by hand, it stopped the tire with ease but again i don't know in real life situations.
