CB550F Cafe Interceptor

I've always liked my NOS Kerker header on this bike, but chrome plated steel is susceptible to bluing, it's heavy and eventually rusts so stainless steel is a great way to go. Until the recent introduction of Hindle Exhaust Systems there have only been a couple of infrequent producers of stainless exhausts for CB550's and 750's. Hindle Exhaust Systems is a worldwide leader in aftermarket exhaust systems and now offers performance exhausts for CB550's, 650's, and 750's.

I got home from an out of town business trip to find that my package from Ripple Rock Racers had arrived! Say hello to my NEW stainless steel Hindle 4-2-1 exhaust system. It's sure amazing to see and feel the flawless build quality a true dedicated performance exhaust manufacturer delivers.
Gonna look purdy all polished and shiny. ;D

I have the same pipe from Ripple Rock for my '79 650. Did you polish these up yourself? Any tips you can offer??

Yup. It's pretty easy if you have a buffer and polish.
Pro Tip: Load up the fridge and crank up the stereo!

Easy multi step process consisting of black buffing compound with a Sisal buffing wheel (probably all anyone needs) followed by a couple of Inversion IPA's and a final buff with Tripoli and a soft wheel.

Killing the winter blues with a little tinkering in the lab.

I found this cool Lucas style headlight which will provide a bit more room for wiring but needs longer fork ears. Will have to make some nice aluminum parts this week.

Nothing says "Committed" like cutting welded headlight mounts.

The weld penetration is amazing.
Not a single void even after milling one side flush.
These are going to be excellent mount tabs.

It's only finished for today, tomorrow will always bring new ideas.

Now the mounts can be easily modified for the next cool headlight idea.

I like the way you think.

Found these amazingly small but super bright (200+ lumen) flush mount LED signals. Going to mount them on the top side of the fork ears. Half way between the headlight and forks.

Found them where... care to share?

Absolutely... Gorgeous!

I built rear sets from alloy plate for my 350LC, I was very pleased with them, but now I know how much better homemade can be!

Have you flashed those high power LED's yet?
Wondering what the angle/spread of the light is like?
