CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike-Nearly Completed-Auctioned off Saturday May 12

Hey guys,

I need some help with a little photoshopping. Myself and a few other guys are building a custom CB550F to auction off for a local family that lost 5 family members in an unfortunate RV accident. The Auction is on May 12 in Minnesota. The bike is coming along great, but in order to try and generate some interest in the bike, I need a picture that makes the bike look like what it is going to when it's all done. What I'd like to see is the tank, tail, side covers, and front fenders candy red (1979 CBX1050), the wheels silver, and the swingarm/hugger black. Anybody's help would be greatly appreciated so we can generate some good funds to benefit the unfortunate family that lost so many members all at once. Here are the pictures.

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

it may be easier if you post some pics that are dead on and level from each side (not a slightly overhead view with the bike slanted). It would also help if the background was a solid colour (hang a sheet, etc).

i am not an expert, but if you post some easier pictures to work with, i can give it a shot.....

Here is a side view of the bike. I took the picture with as plain of a background as I could (it was about 2:00am). Let me know if this would work.

Try to search for photoshop tutorials. Not that hard to do if you have photoshop with the help of a tutorial.

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

I'm bored, I'll whip it up quick.

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

Unfortunately, I don't have photoshop, so I can't photochop it myself.

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

Did my best.
But its pretty tough to create a realistic candy red and silver effect without 3d models and lights on a computer.
Hope its usefull somehow anyway..
EDIT. if anybody wants the PSD and continue my work just send me a PM with your email.

Hey Facius,

Thanks for doing that, I had a feeling that the candy was going to be difficult to emulate. Any way you can make the seat pan look like a seat?

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

No problem.
Hope it is the way you wanted it to look :)

Hey Tyler Jay,

That looks great, thank you very much. I'll be sure to post some pictures once it's finished, it should be pretty sweet.

Re: Calling all Photoshop Experts: CB550F Kerber Benefit Bike

Jesus man, that's some great work on the photoshop. It really makes the bike come to life. If the bike was built like that I have no doubt people would open up their wallets.

Dang Robo,

That looks great, thank you so much for doing that, it is very much appreciated. How easy is it to make changes? Would it be difficult to put the round badges on the tank from a CBR1000RR? They look kind of like the old Honda 305 Superhawk/Scrambler badges What about making the fork lowers polished? I really like the black now that I can see it, but we've been planning on polishing them for that vintage/modern look. I really like that exhaust you put on there too, it really fits the bike. Like I say, I really do appreciate the help. We started this bike last tuesday and have been putting in late nights every night to get it ready for May 12. I just wish I had some experience with Photoshop. Again, thanks for the help.

That looks amazing. Nice job on the pipes and 750 carbs too. If it looks that nice in the metal it will be a winner.

Hey Guys,

We've been working really hard the last few weeks to get this bike into selling shape. It's not quite done, but really close. The bike runs great and sounds really good. Just need to finish up the last details before the auction this coming saturday. There will be both side covers on the bike when it's done.

Does anybody know what signal is sent by CDI boxes for an electronic tach? We are using more modern gauges and the tach is electronic. The wiring diagram just shows the tach getting a signal from the CDI box. We tries hooking it up the signal wire on the coils, but it just maxes out the needle. Anybody know what kind of signal the CDI box usually sends on Honda electronic tachs?
