CB650 quick purchase advice

I am going to pick up a 1980 CB650 tomorrow. The bike is in parts in boxes, but according to the seller, it is 100% complete, he put it apart himself to rebuild it but moved since and has no garage to work on it.
He is asking $150.

Is it a good purchase? It would be my first cafe build. I somewhat know my way around a bike though.

Buys like those are very tricky. If you do buy it, consider looking for another bike at the same time to use the parts on if this one isn't all that "complete" But all in all, the parts are worth more than that. <---edited..haha

I tkink if honda had it to do over again they would of not even made that bike dont buy it there is next to no after market parts for it and its hard a hell to even get comsumables like carb rebuild stuff there are plenty of better bikes to be had in that price range

If it was running at that price go for it. Mine was. Brad's right though, if in basket case condition I wouldn't take it unless it was free. There's a reason the CB650's are unloved.

Well, I bought it. The guy had everything so neatly organized I couldn't say no.

All the bolts in ziplocs, numbered. Carbs have been rebuilt, etc.
Have a USB filled with pictures of the dissassembly process

Here's a few pics before the bike was dissassembled.

Okay, that is a REALLY decent example of a CB650. Nice find. Now you should start cutting it up. Just kidding, I'm glad mine wasn't in that nice of shape. I'm not sure I would cut it up. Nice to fid a nicely organized basket case, enjoy you new bike.

I think you got a good deal and I would have gone for it too. I bought mine in the same condition 10 years ago for 75 bucks but I didn't have pictures and nothing was labeled. My girlfriend was a motorcyclephobe and always hated me working on it. She's been replaced but I still have my 650 8)
