CB750/550/450/350 Cafe Seatpans

1978 CX500 Cafe
I made these pans and they have only been installed on two bikes so best be sure no one has one like this in your town. These seats are the highest grade fiberglass and very strong. They were made with a chopgun not by hand and have a gel coat finish ready for your paint. I have bought from Roccity and a few other big names and these are just as strong and are a custom fit for the CB750 frame rails and even have a lip that flows into the tanks very nicely. I have cut these down to fit cb350's and they work nicely as well so I would be pretty sure that 450's and 550's would be just an easy of a fit with minimal tweaking. They are untrimmed so that is up to you but the price is right . asking 80$ shipped to US . Canadian brothers to pay actual shipping.

so there it is ,your chance for some custom one off parts at a good price for a good cause-

I am interested in one of these. please email me with shipping\payment info. or post here if you prefer.

Wow small world. I was one of the people who almost bought that orange 750 from you.

I can be paypal'ed at brianisnutz@msn.com
Please allow 5-10 business days(not calendar days) for your seat pan as I ride in a cage only once a week and straping a box that big is happening on any of my bikes

Cloyd- sorry you missed it a guy offered me close to 3 grand sight unseen so. I took it. I have other bikes up for sale though...PM me for details

You have been paypal'ed and now I will wait "patiently" right next to the mailbox. Thank you, Dante.

Have received some payments thanks- Can you guys all email me your address and paypal name (whoevers name the paypal account is in ) along with your Username so I can keep track of who has paid and what there exact addresses are. thanks~

for example : whiteorbs /Brian / Mooresville.NC

this keeps things from getting confused. Like Username "#2"who signs his post with the name "Dante" but uses his wifes paypal which has a different name - that can be confusing if you have 15 orders all with similar scenarios (no offense or anything Dante :) )

thanks fellas

Your Rip-off:

Agree with the above. That said, the front lip looks like it has a bit more body to it and a slightly more round lip.

Going to be a fun thread to follow, waiting to see how everyone else who ordered turned out and feedback.... originality and creativity is a lost art/trade in itself it seems. That or the "cafe seat" has ran out of options haha. :p

RocCity's...
Your Rip-off...

I got mine last week. It doesn't look like the same seat to me at all, even in the pics posted. The RocCity seat appears to have very little taper from rear to front, and it also appears to have two distinct angles/creases/flat spots/whatever you wanna call them in the upsweep at the rear of the seating area. As well as the differences in the front lip that was mentioned. The seat I received tapers about 2" from the rear of the seating area to the front, and has a smooth curve/transition on the upsweep.
Is this the drama Orbs was telling me about? He mentioned something about SOHC4 though.

As for feedback... after a shipping snafu, and even after me kinda flipping out on him, Orbs had another pan 2nd day'd to me. And on top of that he refunded me half my money for the trouble. Stand up guy in my book.

Looks like the Roc City seat is trimmed and the Orb seat isn't. If it isn't a blatant knock off, it lacks creativity to be almost exactly the same. If I were in the seat making business I'd want to make something that is a bit different that what other people are doing. And if I felt the need to use someone else's seat to copy, I'd buy one from a major supplier, not a small business. But then again I wouldn't do that.

Isn't the Roc seat a knock-off of a Triumph design? So much for "being a bit different". But it's ok because they're a smaller business than the supplier they copied?

I'm not trying to take sides here. I'd never been on RocCity's site before all this. But even if I had... for what he's charging for an upohlstered seat, I'd have bought from Hotwing Glass. 1) Because I've bought from them before (the seat on my DS7), and 2) Because they're cheaper.
Yes... cheaper. I have a tight budget for my toys, and price is always a factor. Especially when I'm going to cut up/modify a "universal" part to fit my application.
So, is the Orb seat of the same quality as the Roc seat? I have no idea as I don't have a Roc seat for comparison. Seems sturdy enough for what I'm going to do with it, and I'll guess we'll see if it stands the test of time. I can tell you that when I'm done, it'll be a bit different from what Orb sent me. Which should make it "OK" if I decide to mass produce a Orb/Roc/Triumph knockoff seatpan... right?

I bet this is the part where everyone talks about millions of dollars that go into the design and mold of the seat and how no two cafe seats look the same when truth be told. Alot of them do. No kiss as around here. For the record I like to support the smaller companies. Not saying in this case one or the other i better. I have no experience with either company but lets at least be honest about the product and it said similarities. This product either way looks decent and priced well.. Alot of people are over charging for these products as the trend has picked up.
