CB750 Duel Disk Conversion

Ive got a CB350 twin and im planning on upgrading the front forks to 35mm using a CB500 or 550 triple tree. While looking at options for wheels (i want to stay with wire wheels) i came across this website for a duel disk conversion (http://www.anubiscycle.com/cb750-dual-disc-brake-install.htm). The problem is when i went on ebay, there had to have been dozens of different CB750 front forks, which ones would i use? What other trick front brakes are out there that still use wire wheels? I keep hearing about the water buffalo front hub.

I'm attempting to use CX500 forks and a GL1000 brake on my original CB450 wheel. We'll see how it goes soon enough

Aaaaaannndd the result is ambitious, but rubbish. The CB450 wheel just doesn't fly with the CX bits, so don't go that route

I did the dual disk conversion to my 78 CB750K.

After getting a couple parts that looked like they would fit, but didn't, I learned that it's not important what year model as long as it's 69-78(not sure about F models, I have a K). It's only important that you get ALL your parts from the same model and year. Even the parts you're going to use on the new right side brake, get them from the same bike as the left side stuff.

Forks, discs, calipers, caliper arms, swivels, all from the same model bike. Don't worry about finding brake lines, you're going to get new braided stainless lines, anyway, right? Bikebandit.com is where I got my lines and fittings, they have custom lengths to build your own system. You can screw the lines right into the caliper, doing away with the metal line section, or you can replace the hard section with (very cheap) hard line meant for a car. I used the brake line flaring and bending kit that Autozone loans out for free.

There are parts from different models that interchange, but getting measurements and specifics from the typical eBay seller is next to impossible.

To me, it's amazing that Mr. Honda had this bike designed so that the brake parts from the left side can simply be taken apart and reassembled to fit the right side. Try finding that on a new bike!

So I can use my extra disk and caliper from the parts bike and make it fit on the existing setup???? I have a complete 78k cb750 and a full complete front end from the exact same model too

Gribbs,

That's exactly right. I did just that with my '78 CB750K. You'll have to fabricate the short hard section of brake line to match the left side, or just replace the entire brake lines with braided stainless lines. I wanted mine to look factory, so I mirrored the left side by using the loaner brake line tools from Auto Zone to make the rigid section of line.
