CB750 "k"afe build

Did some updates! Swapped in a F oil tank, so I had to make a cover to match on the other side. Turned out good. Still might make another that mounts up different. Thanks to this site & Classic Motorcycle Mechanics I made a block form (floral foam, this site!) Then a plaster mold & layed fiberglass in it. I thin a seat/tail will be next! Installed a set of HAGON shocks too. They're awesome. Dave Quinn set me up with a great set.

Like what you got goin on.

I have Carpy's duck bill seat on my "Kate" (K8)

Too funny, I bought that seat when I first started this project but switched it out for the CR style, then to what I have now. That seat looks great on the 750, but I wanted more of the BSA/Triumph racing tail, the slipperysam, but smaller.
thanks

Thats definitely a unique touch, building a cover for the other side to match the oil tank. It looks good, matched and symmetrical. I like it. ;)

Is that a plaster mold? Did you glass it afterwards?
Its plaster of paris.I made a foam form, green block & used that to make a plaster mold, negative I guess, then layed the fiber glass in it. Only thing that sucked was I tried to wrap the foam form in seran wrap & it caused wrinkles bad in the corners that I had to fill & sand before I layed the glass. I should have sprayed the foam with paint or something to seal it instead. I read on here I think, to use 3M adheasive spray, I shouldve listened.

Blacked the header, FINALLY got the front wheel together & on! New rims, spokes, bearings, & tires, front & back. Put a front fender on, its off a DOHC, I bobbed it then had to shorten the mounts up & redrill it to fit nice on the 18 inch front tire. Took a few picstoday while me & my bro were out on a ride. Thats his 550 bobber.

Awesome, just plain awesome. That first pic of the two bikes at the gas station is perfect, that other bike is pretty bada$$ as well.

It amazes me how many compliments he gets on that bike. H.D. guys love it. Not bad for a free bike! He has about $100 in tune up stuff & misc. not counting the rediculously expensive taillight/plate holder. Chopped the the rear frame off, made the seat out of an old leather jacket and what foam was left of the original seat, put on some 18" ape hangers and rides the shit out of it. Its ratty but in a cool way. Im trying to get to put some new tires on it, but he has about 500 miles on these since he's had it, so lucky or stupid? Maybe both. Thanks for the compliments. Im bad about taking pics as I build but Im trying to be more vigilent. Im gonna do a bigbore for it next winter so I make sure to document it with pics.
