Cb750 racer

Hi, got this CB 750 about 4 months ago in mind of building something different. So work I have done so far, cut 35mm wedge from the back of the head stock to give more rake on the front forks, lost the rear stocks and hard trailed the rear end, lowered the whole bike until the pipes where 3" from the floor, made the seat unit, put Kawasaki wheels on, clip ons and in the middle of fitting a good old English tank (BSA C15).

Nice dude, this is the way I would go with one of these , I love slammed old school bikes :D

Cheers Wayne :)

Not really sure how a bobber/hardtail is a "racer" but looks like a cool start! It looks really mean being that low.

What I was thinking.
But cool looking bike none the less

Work on the rear seat. Put lines from the tank into the seat unit

Love the tank and the slammed look. I'd seriously consider some shocks instead of those struts. You can achieve the same stance with short shocks, and even run completely shrouded shocks to have a clean look, and still retain the functionality. I think it would look better with shocks as well as handle/ride better. A fully shrouded Hagon for example.

The problem with putting shocks on is the distance between the tyre and the seat unit, when going over a pot hole and theres loads of them in England its going to bottom out. I got a Triumph hard trail that I ride now and it's bloody great. The struts are rubber mounted, I know that's not going to make a big difference just hope it will take some of the vibration away from the rear end.

Several people make very short travel shocks, so you can have the best of both worlds

That is a work of art rather than just a fully functioning street bike, a bit like your Bonnie..when its running ;D
However it will run, stop and sound the Billy Bollocks, not to mention put a smile on your face....come on Jimbo get it done ya piss head.

My so called cafe is more a realisation of my dream bikes, without I hope, looking like an overdone picture, you know what I mean....'just a bit more paint, bollocks I f**ked it up'. Some are happy with a bit of cosmetic changes other want more...all power to your elbo Mate.
See you at Ali Pally.

it's your bike! do what you want! i think it looks rad. what clip ons you running and how do you like them?

Strip the bike down ready to powder coat the frame and started work on the engine.

Hi Jimbo,
After reading your thread, I'm curious how you raked the frame.
Got some pics maybe? 8)

This is how I raked it, I got the bike upright and took the weight of the front with a jack and removed the plate that sits on the frame and headstock.I set up 2 lasers, 1 on the frame to the headstock and 1 on the floor pointing to the headstock and marked where the laser hit. I then cut a line straight down the back of the tube that is the headstock ( but not right through , stopped that the bottom about 5mm). I then cut about 35mm away from the first cut at the top, down to the cut where I stopped ( so it like a piece of cheese ). I then put 2 40mmx20mm box section each side of the head stock and welded them to frame ( not the headstock ) to stop it from twisting off line, then lowered the jack so the gap closed up and welded each side off the headstock. Once I was happy with the look my brother and law tig welded it up and made a new plate to sit on top.

Got some parts back from the polishers and some different fork legs. Am happy the way the top of the fork Yolk turned out with the handle bar holders cut off and filled in with alloy plates.

I have posted these pics on various threads here, but don't know if you have seen it. When mine was a concept in my head this is what I was thinking and your bike is starting to remind me of this style...
Very nice! Keep the updates coming.

When I started this project I always like raked out bikes long and low, that's why I built my triumph bobber low (maybe a bit to low). With the honda I wanted to build something different and looked at honda cafe racers on U-tube and saw a lot of nice bikes but nothing that stood out. So I started to cut the frame to build it the way would like it, then I got on to the web sites and that's when I saw these two, am starting to look into building a manifold to hold two webers or dellortos the same as the patterned tank one. I found the web site that these bikes are from (garage company) and they have built two more CB's now. Am trying to build my bike so it doesn't look the same as these, but it is hard because I had the idea before I saw these. Well here are some more pics, got the tyres on, tank bolted down and been rebuilding the engine today.
