Cb750 tank extra line?

Alright so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I just got a 1977 cb750k and while replacing the petcock I noticed an extra tube coming from the bottom of the gas tank.

It's that orange line, my first instinct was to think it was the line that connects the two sides of the tank when they get low but I don't see anther bung on the other side to connect the line to. Any idea what that line is? Thanks!

That allows water or overflow fuel to drain from the recessed area under the filler cap flappy cover. You'll find a little hole up in that area that corresponds to the spigot on the underside.
