I have been searching the site and inter-web but haven't found what i'm looking for. I'm looking for pics and or a write up for re-using a stock cb750f style seat and cutting it into a tracker/brat solo seat. I just need some visual aids to inspire some creativity, i have two seats i can use, one in from a '79 cb750f and the other is from a '80 cb750c, both somewhat similar this one.

Cant remember seeing one using a stock seat, most make their own or use an aftermarket one.

There have been a couple, most notably Woody's brat/tracker started with the stock seat pan. Deacon's too, and he took good pics.

Here is what I was able to do with my stock seat pan from my cb450. Not bad for my first seat ever!

Check your frame before you pick a seat pan - I believe the '79 frame is different than the other DOHCs, though it might just be the K bike.

I actually pulled the old foam off and cleaned it up then used a $8 Yoga mat from Target. The covering I got from a fabric store for $15 for a piece bigger than I am! None of this is fancy stuff but it is what I can justify shelling out right now. I just went layer by layer filling in the low spots, the top there is really the first layer. It has all been spray adhesived, whatever, together after I got it all set.

really like this topic. trying to put a brat seat on my stock cb550, without adjusting any of the fender area. i think the idea posted by bradley may work nicely.

any updates on your build? how did your seat turn out?

i forgot about this post, my seat turned out good. Check my build in the specials section or follow the link in my signature.
