I guy I know has offered, me and anohter friend of mine his CB750 for sale. Here is the email he sent and some pictures:

"At last I cleaned out my garage and pulled out the motorcycle.
Pictures are attached. It is a 1978 CB 750 Supersport with
about 60K miles. (It was ridden cross country a few times.)

It has been in storage since 1999, and it will certainly need
work to be road worthy again. I'm asking $400, provided
you transport it to its new home."

Does it seem like a good deal?

Last year for the bike and for the SOHC CB750 altogether. The CB750F heads were known to not be the most durable design, but if this thing has been ridden reliably for 60K miles, it likely has been well maintained.

It looks pretty stock save the muffler, handlebars and fairing. The raised bars mean extended cables etc. but you'd want to replace those anyhow.

$400 is a no brainer if you're looking. Loose the Vetter - you may need replacement headlight bucket/ears. No big deal.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Where I live you wouldn't get one in that condition for less than $1500.

Im in SF, CA so we do have a ton of bikes out here. The only think that makes me hesitant, is that fact that I have a CL350 in pieces in the garage. I guess I could spend $400 drop another couple hundred on parts and try to resell it on fleabay. I feel like the "drop a couple hundred on parts" are famous last words! ;D

My buddy who I was hoping wanted it, just passed on the offer and the ball is in my court now.

:eek:You'd have to have a hole in your head not to jump on that deal. Rip off the Vedder and put on some straight bars , do some essentials and the upkeep and ride the balls off it . That's in good shape . And even if the motor's shot you can always swop the motor for a 750k for cheap.

Such a POS, every nut & bolt stripped or broken, tank rusted so bad the only thing holding fuel in was the coating on the inside of the tank, I still was able to sell it for $800
