CB77 Superhawk Build

I started playing with tail light placement today, but I was unsuccessful. This is all I come up with, and I have a feeling it would just be a game of "will my rear tire smash my tail light before I get rear-ended?"

Back to the drawing board.

Good luck man. Looks cool. I'll be following this build

I had to put the build temporarily on pause, since we had our second kid in december. Also, i've been focusing as much of my energy as reasonable to getting the garage organized. If you look at the photo of the tail light, you can see the workspace isn't exactly well utilized.

Things are looking much better now, and I've made a lot of progress on my rear hugger fender.

Correct. It's backlight in white, and the Hm is backlit in red. You can see the cord wrapped around it until I can install an outlet behind it.

I finally got off my ass and sold the rare parts from the bike that I'm not using, on eBay and have some money to get this project rolling.

This week I got my rearsets in the mail. They are off of, I believe, a mid 2000's CBR600 of some variety. They were the least sci-fi looking of the modern superbike rearsets on eBay. $75 shipped for the pair, and the brake side has some threaded spots where I can build some hook ups for my rear brake cable.

I got the clip ons and the new headlight ears. I found a guy who is going to cut me a new top triple out of aluminum. I was going to have mine welded and shaved, but it's just not cost effective in the long run.

Next up is getting my steering damper situated. Oh, and my quick action throttle is en route.

Neat. I too had issues of design lines being too "modern era" on the ebay rear sets. So I found this, and wanted to share it with you. I have tried it, and the peg position shown in this image (figure H and I) is really the only comfortable position for me (I'm 5'8") with my cafe seat and Bikemaster Clubman bars (which are in similar locations to your seat pan and bar grips)

I'm probably going to trim the wing off of the shifter side, but the brake side provides mounting points for the brake cable and the brake light switch. I will need to make a longer brake pedal though.

after a bit more searching, it seems like people have done this rear hugger thing successfully, so i'm going to green light that project.

Here is mine for some inspiration. Not 100% applicable because of the swingarm brace but thought it might help. It's a cut down Aprilia RS125 hugger btw:

Went Monoshock too so if you need some advice on that one, happy to help. Looks like you're moving away from that idea though.

I still have a top brace available (made 2) but it's in Australia which might be prohibitive.
