Im looking for a more modern suspension for my 1968 Honda CL450 rebuild. I have seen people put CBR600rr fork assembly's on theirs. Any experience, feedback, or fork suggestions? Thanks

All balls tapered steering bearing conversion... I'm on mobile so it's hard to post links but their website has a chart to see if they make the bearings. At least then you'll know you have that much accomplished.

It SHOULD bolt up, but you may have to mess with stem length, and figure out if you want to use the stock spoked wheel or the modern 17" aluminum wheel. Obviously, using the stock wheel will be more of a challenge...but its definitely do-able.

Consider your goals carefully. For better suspension, I think the 450 can use cartridge emulators, which will make a significant difference. Drum brakes can similarly be made to be quite effective, if still annoying in their tuning and maintenance.

If you want a spoked wheel up front, be prepared to spend significant time and/or money with machine work, unless you get the front end of a modern Bonneville or SportClassic and use that wheel.

Specifically, using a modern sportbike front-end will be expensive when all is said and done, and you might find yourself hitting the gas tank with the forks from very little movement of the handlebars. There are other considerations...

I know this because I'm in the middle of doing it:

Awesome i have never heard of them but from what i have seen they work great. So with that where would you recommend getting forks. I haven't found much on ebay or craigslist.

I swapped a CBR600f1 front end to my Cb400f with nothing more than an AllBallsRacing.com fork bearing swap kit. No issues with stem length or anything. Bolted right up with the bearing kit and a spacer. Of course I went with the CBR600f1 wheel/brake package as well. Bolt on on the front, lots of machining on the rear to adapt to the disc and accommodate the wider wheel package.

Do you have a writeup or more specifics on the alloy/disc rear wheel? That looked even more daunting than getting spoked wheel on sportbike front.
