whats up,
i have just recently finished my little cafe.
i have built this thing from frame up. it is an 1973 cd175, this model was only made for 1 year in canada. 1973-74.
frame and motor numbers match, and it only has just over 8000 kms on it.
the motor only has about 250kms on the top end.
i have owned this bike for 1.5 years, and in those yrs i have made some changes to it.
here is a list of what i've done..
1- i installed a sloper tank of a early cd175. and pet cock.
2- used old seat and shaved it down and rewrapped it, added a cafe hump to it.
3- installed a set of cafe bars.
4- installed new exhaust, dunstall type pipes, sounds really awesome.
5- installed new brakes.
6- installed rear sets, works really slick
7- bobbed frt fender, bobbed rear fender with spade cut out..
8- new fork seals and head light.
9- painted all parts, side covers, tank, fenders, spokes, hubs, etc.
10- rebuilt top end. new cam chain/tensioner, new piston rings with cleaned cyl, all new eng gasket kit, new pionts, new plugs,
new carb kit, new starter gear and chain.
11- new drive chain and sprokets.
12- new tires and tubes.
13- painted motor with high temp paint.
14- new regulator.
15- all new bulbs and made up plate and brake light assy, brake light is very bright.
the bike runs very well, recently went on a poker run, and was the smallest bike out of about 200 or so bikes. i ran in the middle
pack and we ran about 85 to 100 kms, and did it with no problems. the bike will do 115kms or so, i do take it on the hyw 401 and
have past a few cars with it. i do'nt tend to do it a lot but it can run it..
any way, the bike sounds and runs perfect. i really don't want to let it go, but my boss says it must go in order to get the next one,
to many toys.
i am looking for 2000$ for this bike cert. or a trade of equal value. i am looking for a bigger bike. perfer a cb350/400 around that
type..it must run and really don't want it in ruff shape..
if interested pm me, i will consider all bike trades......
here are some pics for you.
this is a turn key bike, no tire kickers at all, pics are here.
this is a vintage collector bike, and a very strong runner.
the only thing that it needs are exhaust wrap, and the crome tank side covers, i have not found any as of yet, hav'nt tryed that hard.
my insurance is extremly cheap and only takes 5 bucks to fill and can run 90mpg, i have done a 250-500 mile run on 2 tanks.
cost us about 12$ for the run. brockville to ottawa to cornwall to brockville, with running around in ottawa.
any way, if interested pm or post.
thanks,
later.
