Center stand hitting chain '73 XS650

Mr_Dunev

I have no idea what I am doing
So I just bought my first TX650, ran great during the test ride.

As I was wheeling it into my garage, I heard a clicking sound. I finally found the source, and the center stand was SEVERELY rubbing against the chain. Enough to lift it at least an inch. As you can see in the photos there is a large notch in the the stand, not sure if it was cut out, or was worn down.

Anyone see this before? I just took off the center stand, I don't use it anyways.

Here you can see it lifting the chain

Here I pulled the stand down

After I took it off, you can see the notch

I don't know about the TX, but usually there is some kind of bumper to stop the stand from coming up that far. Said bumper is usually attached to the passenger peg mounts and / or the exhaust hanger.

Yeah I think it's from someone taking off the mufflers. I am just going to leave it off for now!

Thanks
