cg125br-j cafe build/ conversion. Are We There Yet?

Leave it as is or, try a half size smaller main jetie, 112.5 instead of 115
Would it be too difficult to unwrap a section of pipe, cut couple of inches out and re-fit the bend?

If you're still considering an engine swap, your engine looks identical to the Lifan 200 I just dropped in the wife's bike. I had to remake the top motor mount, but it doesn't even look like you'd have to do that since your motor's not OHC. She's had it to 70 without trying too hard, and that's with somewhat conservative gearing. Don't think the ton is really in reach, but it'll get you closer!

Im not too sure yet as I had a little bump yesterday and i'm going to need new forks and possibly the frame might be a little bent i'm going to have it checked with the aligning rod at a garagr soon though !

I would drop a 200 in her if I could but its around £300 for me to get hold of one over here in the UK! I only payed 250 for her when I brought the bike so paying more for an engine seems a tad silly to me when im maybe going to get an extra 30mph at a push! ill keep a look out for a standard exhaust though that could help see if the exhausts doing much!

Besides the jet in it at the moment is a 95! put a 100 in it the other day and it was sooty as anything!

A 'little bump' bent the forks and possibly frame?
What did you run into?

Damn, didn't realize they were that expensive over there. I gave $300 for the one I got, but I had $500 in the bike. Dunno what that is in pounds at the moment. Lol.

was going maybe 10mph and I ran into the back of a small hatchback I don't think the frames bent on further inspection looks like maybe all that happened was the engine strengthening bar at the front was a little arched not to worry about though! :)

no creasing or possible warping, the bike lives on! However the forks are a different story, they look like dousing rods at the moment, must be made of Yugoslavian pig metal or something! They really are delicate things!

Lucky you didn't get hurt.
Oh well, shit happens.
I hope you were paying attention and not distracted by something?

Yeah I ended up on top of the guys roof somehow! the bike completely threw me! I was slowing down and I checked my mirrors to make sure I could pull out into the right hand side of the lane and as I looked back up the guy had slammed the anchors and I didn't have a chance!

At least your not automatically 'at fault' in Britain.
Over here, if you run into someone your almost always to blame, even if they did do something stupid

That was partly my fault should have been paying more attention, the guy who I 'bumped' into was one of the nicest people I could have asked for, he turned out to be a doctor and checked me over and everything while I was waiting for my dad to come and pick my bike up with the truck!

What do you think about maybe chopping the exhaust off right before the bend and heating the rear section of the exhaust up the larger diameter section before the muffler and bending it slightly would that work alright?

where I used to work was a freeefit exhaust place, I used to go through the skip and find lengths of pipe to make exhaust systems. (take a hacksaw ;) )
Bending thin wall pipe isn't very easy without special equipment

would it perform better if I cut the bend off and just ran it in the same direction as a drag pipe?

Well i've chopped the bend off and i'm going to take it out for a ride later to see if I can get some more top end out of it!

Heres how it looks now.

Yeah I took it out about 15 minutes ago and was able to pull up to around 60 without any trouble would have probably got a bit faster if I wasn't stuck behind a car!

Besides from that the plug still looks to be running rich although it should have leaned it out! Would lifting the needle make much difference?
