Checking the charge current - how ? (CB550 '76)

How do I check the charge current on my CB550. (Note: I am an electrical lkutz)

ie - where do I attach my meter? What should it read ? (13V+ I would expect)

I suspect I am not getting a charge on my just finished project. Battery seemed to flatten while I was riding. - wouldnt start on the starter. Kick started fine.

ok ... you want to measure the current on the battery terminals while running if you're concerned that it's running flat.
With a 12 vold battery,. you should have a minimum of 13volts (mine runs at 14.5volts) with at least 6 amps current (mine averages 14.5 but can go as high as 29)
