CJ360 No sparky :(

I've got blue going to blue. Yellow to yellow. Black/white to black/white. I have power going into coils but nothing after. Coils, condenser, points, plugs, wires, battery all brand new. Grounds are good. Kill switch is temp bypassed. In neutral. Key turned. I'm stumped. Bike isn't hacked at all. I'm probably forgetting something simple.

Also, everything is a factory/reproduction part. Nothing modified.

At the battery terminals in getting about 11.5... I also found that if I disconnect the two wires from the points the volts in the terminals coming from the coils jumps from .1 to 10.7 when unplugged. I also checked the resistance in the wires coming from the points and when I move the wires the numbers jumped around a lot.

Might be time for some maintenance.

New points are cheap enough and replacing the wires isn't difficult.

That said, your battery is a bit low. Toss it on the charger.

The points are new but I did get to do a quick inspection on some of the factory terminals and some are pretty dirty and possibly corroded along with some of the wires to thefuses.

Non flammable brake/parts cleaner alright to use on electrical components? Or should I just pick up a can of the electrical parts cleaner. (Asking only because I have a ton of half used cans hanging around)

Has the bike been running since the points were replaced? It's pretty easy to mess up the installation (even for someone who's done it a few times).

Rotate the engine until one of the points is open, then measure the resistance between the points wire and ground. You should NOT be able to get a reading. If you're getting a reading, then the points haven't been properly installed. Usually it comes down to one of the plastic washers that's meant to insulate the points from grounding out until they're closed.

Thanks sonrier. Turns out I had put the terminal on the inside of the plastic washer on one side ::) Luckily I didn't fry out my coils. Currently getting a strong blue arc on both my spark plugs.

Thanks again!
