cl175 muffler delete question

Been Around the Block
***Disclaimer: Before anyone crucifies me, I have a new muffler and it will be going on the bike.***

Having trouble nailing down a definitive answer, but will running my cl175 with no mufflers (just the headers) hurt it? I understand general carb theory and know the disadvantages of not having the back pressure with stock carbs, jets, etc. But, it started cold the first press of the button and fired right up, loud as hell. I took it around the neighborhood and besides a very slight decrease in overall performance, most notable at low and high range, it ran fine. The issue however came when immediately (no kidding within 5 minutes) of me chopping off the muffler this evening, my welder buddy called and said he is down for the next month. So, being a broke college student with not many alternatives it will be at least a month before the new pipes get welded on and my muffler can be attached. Am I good to ride? Is there a possibility of damage? Any guidance will be happily received.

Thanks,
Andy

I belive cutting off stock mufflers requires rejet especially if your not running stock air filter.

Yeah they say if you get more flowing through your motor without more fuel it will run lean and hot. If you keep an eye on your plugs and they stay a tan color you should be fine! As far as I know lol!

A lean mixture (from less backpressure) will burn hotter. Too hot and the exhaust valve fails. Will yours fail? I have no idea.
