Cl350 engine noise??

Hey guys/gals was wondering if you could tell me just how noisy 350 Honda engines are, well more inportantly what's acceptable.. A little history of the bike: I bought it not running in the spring time and have wrenched on it on and off getting all of the components to work before the Cafe conversion this winter. Did the usuals cleaned the tank carbs got it registered ect. It runs quite well now and has good power.. My issue is when the engine is cold its quite noisy at idle but when it warms up it sounds fine. I'm probably being a bit over cautious about this but I don't really want to overlook anything.. Plus I haven't heard one of these run in person since the early '90s so I really don't remember what they sounded like. Well anyway let me know what you think.. Thanks!

Double-check the clearances between your valves and tappets and ensure the cam chain is tensioned according to the manual. Otherwise, yeah, the top end of the 350s and 360s can be a bit noisy. :)

Thanks for the reply :) Valve adjustment is good, actually the whole top end sounds good.. Just when it's cold there is a rhythmic sound (primary?) and a muffled tapping (oil pump?) sound both coming from the clutch cover side.. and when it's warmed up it sounds fine.. Either that or I'm deaf from riding lol

A tid bit of that "sewing machine" sound is normal.

Well crap took the bike for a ride today to a neighboring town and noticed the engine had gotten a lot louder.. I putted back home and now I definitely have an uncomfortable noise coming from the clutch and or transmission.. gets quiet when the clutch is pulled in.. Soo I'm waiting for it to cool and the clutch cover is coming off.. fingers crossed its something simple.. :(
