Hey guys,
I just extended these CL350 headers with straight tubing. Right now they are just bolted on with the exhaust studs. I plan on welding on tabs to each of the pipes to connect the two. How necessary is it though for another support at the end of the pipes?
I've seen quite a few pictures of chopped CL350 exhausts that are solely supported by the exhaust studs. This seems like a lot of stress for them though. So if I'm going to weld on a support to the pipes, I'll have to attach it to either a small bolt on the motor (which would look the cleanest but i worry it might damage the bolt/threads on the engine) or attach it to the swingarm bolt (which will be more obvious to the eye but provide more support), or perhaps i dont even need one at all?
here's 2 pics of the exhaust now
