CL350 fuel shortage/mpg

Just did a 6hr tour this past weekend. The Scrambler typically gets about about 45+ mpg but on this trip it was forcing me over every 35miles to fuel up. I'd have to throw it on reserve each time to make it. then when I'd go to fuel up, there was slightly more than half a tank.

Is this a float level issue?

Mostly stock. Nothing functionally/aesthetically done recently except timing. Replaced the petcock last season.

Was running great for the ride until the throttle loses power progressively after about 35miles which was strange. Pretty sure gas cap is sealed well but will check tmrw.

i once had an issue where one of my jets shook itself loose and was in the float bowl. I got lousy mpgs but it was about 30 mpg not just 35 miles.

look at the carb make sure they are operating correctly
