CL350 gear shift lever

Guys, anyone replaced the 1969 CL350 shifter linkage with the shorter gear shifter used on later models? Are the CB shift levers compatible with the CL? Appears to be a common problem for these bikes. Anyone with any insight?

I did that on my 71 because that linkage is such a pain in the ass. Never looked back

You might have clearance issues with an aftermarket exhaust But I managed to make it work

I think you just saved me a ton of hassle. didn't even think about cutting out the linkage.
