CL350 Oversized Piston Question

Been Around the Block
i have a 72 CL350 that i'm going to have to install larger piston heads on. I thought i read at one point, that if you go bigger, eventually you'll have to replace other things, like valve springs.

#1, Is that true?
#2, How much bigger can I go and not have to change anything else (besides the pistons, rings and boring out, of course)?
#3, What all would have to be changed if I pass that threshold?

Thanks for your help!

larger piston heads , is not the correct terminology
what are you reffering to oversize pistons ?

you can go oversize, a few mm safely, there are not huge gains doing so
they are a good running engine if tuned to spec
you are far better off just going with a fresh bore 1mm oversize maybe go with the 10.5 wiseco pistons that is what i used in mine i am very happy...
they are less than $300 for the kit, a great value.
premium fuel only is a good idea with the higher comp
do you have a mechanic ? to do the work for you ?
you do not need to change valve springs
you do need to measure EVERYTHING inside the motor as per the factory service manual to see what parts are still servicable
this requires precision measuring tools and the know how to use them

Sorry, my bad, yes oversized pistons.

I'm not really looking for power gains, just an engine that gets good, even compression.

The machine shop is the one that let me know that I've burned them up.

Seemed weird to me because one cylinder had proper compression.

Thanks for the info!
