CL350 TYPE 1 TRACK BIKE; NOW RUNS!

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

jared just pay the shipping and i'll send you my coils.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Okay DB I should have the coin here in a week or two. Oh and quick update guys, I am finally making some money, so progress on the bike should really start to happen. The only issue is that I have to manage the spending between my 280zx and the bike. But parts for the bike are cheaper than the car lol!

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Ok i'll go dig em outta my shed. Wifey said all parts must go. I told her to stfu and mind her kitchen business.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

looking forward to seeing this bike when its done. I'm reworking a CL350 as well, thanks for the vids and the inspiration!

Thanks dude, I saw you on my youtube. I appriciate it. Also really quick guys my thread is not dying nor is the bike! Budget has been kicking me in the balls the entire time I have been working on the bike. But not for long, after DB's coils, and see what's up with the new points I am hoping to have her running within a couple of weeks.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

I'm having some ignition issues with my cl as well. Just ordered new plate and points assembly from ebay, hope it solves my timing issues. Good luck with yours.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

I am not dead, I have to fix my car first and make it safe to drive before I can spend my budget money on the bike. So a month or two and progress will really be rolling out. All I need for it to run is a ignition coil and oil and new fuel line. Not to much to go to have or run. Update video coming tomorrow!

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

I am really sorry guys that nothing is happening on the bike. I am upset that I have NO time to work on it. But on the brightside, I have a small engine repair shop in my garage that I have been making a decent amount of money in. I can use that to get the bike going. Thanks for following my thread through all this BS.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Woah! When did you buy this bike? I was going to get a non running cl350 in ABQ like two months ago for 200 or so. But the guy said someone was looking at it. I wonder if it was you! haha. Well cool project build.

EDIT: Nevermind. Checked the date.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

I have had it for about 14 months now. And I only payed $80 for it because it was/still is in sorry shape.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

awesome mate! looking forward to it...

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Yep, I need to get it figured out lol!

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Well I have to wait till tomorrow to start buying the parts. What do you recommend? A whole wiring harness? Or start out with coils? Let me know! Should I even buy a whole new harness. I need some help lol! Thanks. p.s. With some coin that I had laying around, I bought some clip-ons from eBay. Should be here in a few days. Video to come!

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

wire up your own harness man... itll be cheaper and cleaner, and if you ever have an electrical issue you'll be able to diagnose and fix it in a jiffy.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Thats what I did before, I think I am just going to replace that connector from the stator with bullets and wire it up. Do you have the simple schematic? And I should wait to do that until hurley finishes my battery tray right. Oh and I also want to run a shorai battery, have you seen them?

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

the shorais are nice, but wont fit in my bike... i have to run a mini pack which are made using a123 cells. very little power draw on my bike and with the new stator and rectifier/regulator wont need much battery at all.

Okay, so will the shorais work with my bike. All the electics are old except for the rectifier. I saw the a123 trick, but for the price that I would pay, I am worried that I will fuck it up.

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

go with the shorai. its a good battery and will work fine, as well as being very light relatively. i cant run one on my bike as my battery tray is the width of the fram rails under the seat xP

Re: Honda CL350 Cafe, close to running!

Okay will do after I finish the wiring. I am getting really excited!
