CL360 Horn not working

So when i bought the bike a few months back, the horn barely worked. Then after awhile, when I pressed the horn button, i would hear a "clicking" or "popping" as if it was trying to turn on but there was no sound coming out of it. After that, I had it barely working once more. And now I can't get a sound out of it whatsoever.

Any ideas? I don't want to go buying and replacing everything without assessing what the real issue is first.

Thanks ladies and gents.

Horn has a black (battery + when key is on) and a light-green wire that runs to the button in the handlebar control. When the button is pressed it completes the circuit to ground. The button's contacts can become corroded and fail to make a good connection and/or are unable to pass the amount of current the horn needs to operate.

To see if it is horn itself or bad button you can connect the horn directly to a battery (black +, light-green -) If the horn works that way then it is the button, if not you need a new horn.

If the button is bad you may be able to open up the handlebar control and clean the contacts, but the best solution would be to install a relay. With a relay the button only has to pass a small current to trigger the relay and the relay then passes the larger amount of current to the horn.

Yes good info^^ i usually test the horn separately with a jump box and alligator clips....if it works i scare the shit outta myself everytime....
