Classic bike with no V5c

Ok, so my Z200 was purchased approximately 2 years ago by my brother before he left it in boxes, and no V5c was provided with it.

There was also no number plate, so all I have is a frame number and an engine number, is it possible to receive the V5c for the bike with only a frame number?

If not, how would I go about registering it and receiving an age related plate?

contact owners club or vintage mc club to get a dating certificate

however it will probably have to be close to original to go this route to getting it back on the road

I had a similar scenario many years ago with a DT125LC - I called the importer (Mitsui machinery of something along those lines) and had a chat, they gave me the registration number over the phone, then filled out a document from the post office and sent it to the DVLA, who then sent me the log book.

BUT - this was around 1991 and things have changed, might be worth a shot.

If that route turns up nothing I would recommend going to either the VJMC or a Kawasaki owners club and get a dating certificate from them as already mentioned.

Maybe its too late to reply this topic but I had the same problem with Honda VT. Bought on ebay as a spares with no V5, reg number, half rusty VIN plate and even owner. But things went really well. One guy was bringing his Vespa to DVLA to match numbers and I gave him Honda frame number. He gave to guys in DVLA and they dig out reg number for only 15 pounds. All I need to do is just fill V5 form and after few weeks log book arrived. Before getting log book I wasnt even sure what VT model it is.
