is the clear fuel lines they sell online specially made for fuel or is the stuff at the hardware store the same?

The stuff at the hardware store is not fuel line. Its for water. Will fail if used as fuel line. Just buy real fuel line.

I've been using the hardware store stuff for about a month now. Its the clear one with the braided webbing inside. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it fails. But it was rated for all kinds of chemical use, so I gave it a shot. The only thing it said NOT to use it for was ice makers... I guess time will tell.

ya id rather just go pick it up at ace then have to wait for it to ship. i was planning on using the stuff without the webbing. morningwood how long have you been running it?

I have used what feels like miles of that hardware store type lines over the years. It goes hard after a year or two and has to be replaced.

Best stuff is Tygon AFAIK or the gray stuff that Motion Pro sells.

Providing that it lasts a year, then for $5 I bought enough for five years. Seems like a good deal. I'll swap it out every spring if it seems to be getting brittle.

I like BMW OEM fuel line. Sounds pretentious I know, but it's proper fuel line, black rubber hose with a braided cloth covering. Not terribly expensive and looks great.

I hate the 'fuel line' that ultimately stiffens and yellows. Not sure that stuff is actually fuel line or not, but seemed to be on every bike I ever bought.
