You know what needs to be made in clear plastic? FLOAT BOWLS. It's practical, you could see if there's a problem, if there's gunk in them, etc. The DOHC Honda factory racers had them, though I'm not sure whether they were plastic or something more like corning-ware, .

you used to be able to get clear float bowls for dell ortos, I had one on my vespa which had been converted to a 30mm dell orto from the orig 24mm down draught POS (also had a 225cc big bore and unbaffled chamber, it did close on 90mph and was very scary - especially when the back wheel fell off....)
a friend of mine had another big bore conversion kit which gave 212cc but had two carbs...the orig 24 stayed in place on the crank and there was an 18mm on the new barrel, still wasn't as fast as mine but the back wheel didn't fall off so he won
