Clip-on help?

Okay so I got some 34 mm clipons from mikes xs wich is the size fe 1970-1976 and inhave a 1976 yamaha xs650 and I tryed to put them on and they ssbt fit so I measure my forks and there 35 mm! Does anyone know what I could do toget these on? Maybe some quick help?

Short of having a millimeter reamed outta the clamps...not so much.
Sounds like someone swapped to the far better 35mm forks. Get with MikesXS and exchange'm.
I'm not heard of anyone having troubles with them....

I put 35mm clip ons on my 71 xs650..
I just used a standard everyday aluminum metal .5mm ruler.. just put a piece off an used it as a shim...

tightend up and the bars have never moved...

I used the ruler that had the cork backin on it..

Alright, so i thought about it and they're chromed steel so if i honed th em out 1mm it would be exposed steel and would rust on my forks so i emailed mikesxes to figure out the exchange policy, thanks though guys...

Ummm, You can paint them once you hone them out.

You'd only have to ream them out 1/2 mm.....but getting the correct size ones is best
