I have a 79 GS550 I am planning on getting a shorter clutch cable for it and was wondering how hard it is to switch them out? Do I have to rip alot of shit apart?
no, its easy....just remove lower clutch lever cover, loosen the cable from hand lever, remove the end from the lower clutch lever and its off. Take out the old one, re route the new one and attach to lower lever first. replace cover, and then attach to hand lever...adjust the slack at hand lever and ride!
