Clutch cable just so slightly too short

My couch pulls out but I dont
Hey guys, I have an issue with my cb500t, I bought a bew clutch lever but now when I try to run the clutch cable the distance between the end of the cable and the housing is too short by about 5-8 mm, what are my options here? I checked the other end of the cable (tensioner?) but it's all the way tight...I've seen videos on how to shorten / change the length of the full cable and that seems pretty tricky, anything I can do?

Simmer down...

Its been less than 24hrs man. Haha.

Anyhow, youre saying that the cable itself is too short for the aftermarket clutch lever? What lever is it? Some pics would help.

The cable is fine, its the cable housing that is like 5mm too long

Ill post a picture tonight

Well, if your hand is steady you might be able to trim the excess sheathing off with a dremel, otherwise you'll need to remove the cable ferrule, take the cable out, cut the sheathing, put the cable back in and re-install / put on a new ferrule. Either way is not for the inexperienced, really.

Or get another slightly longer cable.

Or get a different lever / perch.

I saw a pretty good lesson on shortening the cable and housing i may give it a try and see how it goes
